KNL LOGISTICS, LLC

FAQ's

As an Independent Agent with KNL, you keep your freedom and relationships — and plug into a serious 3PL platform so you focus on winning freight and servicing accounts.

Getting Started with KNL

We partner with asset-based carriers and owner-operators running dry van, reefer/temperature-controlled, flatbed/specialized, and hotshot/expedited equipment. If you run a safe, professional operation and care about service, we’re interested.

Sometimes. We look at the full picture — insurance, safety, experience, and how you operate. New authorities aren’t automatically disqualified, but we do expect professionalism and a strong commitment to compliance.

No. There is no fee to onboard with KNL or be part of our carrier network.

Click “Start Carrier Onboarding” below and share basic company details, and our Carrier Team will walk you through requirements, documents, and next steps.

Requirements & Documents

You’ll need:

  • Active MC and/or DOT authority
  • Acceptable safety profile
  • Valid insurance (auto liability, cargo, and workers’ comp where required)
  • Standard documents (W-9, COIs, company contacts, banking info)

If you already run a clean operation, this list will look very familiar.

Typical onboarding documents include:

  • Current W-9
  • MC/DOT authority documentation
  • Certificates of Insurance (liability, cargo, workers’ comp if applicable)
  • Company contact sheet (dispatch, after-hours, billing, safety)
  • Banking details for payment

We’ll give you clear instructions on how to upload or send everything.

No. You can start onboarding and upload as you go — but we can’t dispatch you until all required documents are in, valid, and approved.

Freight, Lanes & Operations

We move freight for mid-to-large shippers across:

  • Manufacturing
  • Food & beverage
  • Healthcare-adjacent products
  • Energy/industrial
  • Ecommerce and retail

Most of that is dry van and temp-controlled, with flatbed, specialized, and expedited as well.

We’re headquartered in Georgia with freight moving across the U.S., especially to and from major distribution markets and the Southeast. As we learn your preferred lanes, we work to line up freight that fits your wheelhouse.
Both — but our goal is to build repeat, relationship-based freight whenever possible. We’d rather help you build a stable weekly plan than send you a different random direction every day.
Yes. During onboarding we ask about preferred regions, lanes, and home time needs. The more open you are, the more options we’ll have — but we do our best to respect how your operation actually runs.

Communication, Compliance & Safety

We’re big on straight talk and fast updates. You can expect:

  • Clear info on pickup/delivery, requirements, and appointments
  • Real-time communication when something changes
  • People who will pick up the phone, not just send you to a portal

We expect the same level of communication from you in return

We expect carriers to:

  • Run legally and safely at all times
  • Maintain roadworthy, compliant equipment
  • Respect HOS and ELD requirements
  • Communicate if a load becomes unsafe or unrealistic to run as planned

We will never ask you to run illegal or unsafe to make a delivery.

Yes. We conduct ongoing checks on authority, insurance, and safety performance. If something important changes, we expect you to let us know too.
