KNL LOGISTICS, LLC

Documents

Here’s exactly which documents you’ll need to become an approved KNL carrier — and how we use them to protect you, your drivers, and our shippers.

Paperwork, Simplified

Clear requirements, simple steps, and real people to help you get set up as a KNL carrier — without a week of back-and-forth.
To become an approved KNL Logistics carrier, you’ll need a clear set of required documents that help us protect you, your drivers, and our shippers. These documents matter because before we put you on a load, we verify two things: that your operation is fully protected with proper authority and insurance, and that our customers are protected with safe, compliant carriers handling their freight. Every item we request serves a purpose—no busywork, no unnecessary steps. If you already run a solid, professional operation, you likely have most of these documents ready, making approval fast and straightforward.

Core Documents We Require

W-9 (Most Recent Version)

Tip: Make sure the legal name and EIN match what’s on your authority and banking info.

Operating Authority (MC/DOT)

Tip: If something changed recently (name, address, ownership), make sure your FMCSA profile reflects that before onboarding.

Certificates of Insurance

Tips: Ask your agent to list KNL Logistics, LLC correctly on the certificate. Make sure limits and dates are clearly visible and in force.

Company & Contact Information Sheet

Tip: Shared inboxes (like dispatch@ / billing@) are fine, but always give us at least one named person too.

Banking / Payment Details

Tip: Double-check numbers before sending. A quick review now beats a long delay later.

Driver & Equipment Information

Tip: We don’t collect every detail on day one, but we may request equipment types or any special certifications.

How to Share Documents with KNL

During onboarding, we’ll provide clear instructions for submitting your documents through secure upload links, portal access, or direct email to our Carrier Team. If you’re unsure whether a document is current or complete, simply send what you have — we’ll review it and let you know exactly what’s missing or needs an update to keep the process moving quickly.

Keeping Your Info Up to Date

Once you’re approved, we’ll ask you to keep your information current by updating insurance certificates whenever coverage changes or renews, notifying us of any MC/DOT status changes, and informing us of new contacts or banking details. Staying up to date protects you, your drivers, and our shippers — and ensures you remain in good standing for continued freight opportunities with KNL Logistics.

FAQs

Hotshot shipping is a specialized service designed for urgent and time-sensitive deliveries. Unlike standard freight services, which may involve scheduled pickups and longer transit times, hotshot shipping prioritizes speed and efficiency, providing immediate dispatch and expedited transportation for smaller loads that require rapid delivery.

Our hotshot shipping services are ideal for a wide range of smaller loads, including equipment, machinery, building materials, tools, automobiles, and other critical supplies. If you have specific requirements, our team can provide tailored solutions to ensure your goods are transported safely and efficiently.

We pride ourselves on our rapid response times. As soon as you submit a hotshot shipping request, our team works quickly to dispatch the nearest available driver and vehicle, typically within hours. We understand the urgency of your needs and prioritize getting your shipment on the road as fast as possible.

KNL Logistics offers hotshot shipping services across a wide geographical area, including local, regional, and long-distance routes. Our extensive network allows us to provide fast and reliable service wherever your shipment needs to go. Contact us to discuss specific locations and coverage areas.

Safety and security are paramount in our hotshot shipping services. We use specialized vehicles equipped with securement tools to safely transport your goods, and our drivers are trained in best practices for handling urgent loads. Additionally, we provide real-time tracking and monitoring to keep you informed throughout the shipment's journey.
